We are presently accepting resumes for a 6-month contract part-time** Developmental Support Worker - Specialized Coordinator Asleep Nights **to work as a Specialized Resource Coordinator providing quality support to high-need individuals residing in the Treatment Home and Specialized Resource locations. This position provides guidance and direct support in areas identified as necessary related to activities of daily living, personal care, communication, emotional, physical and mental health, safety, finances, and relationship development to foster independence.

**Compensation package**:
This position will be assigned to our Asleep Night line working 7 shifts bi-weekly between the hours of 8:00 pm - 08:00 am. The minimum rate of pay per shift is $271.32.
- Additional awake hours may be available with a minimum rate of pay of $28.73/hour;
- 11 paid statutory holidays;

**Minimum requirements for this position include**:

- Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Social Services or a closely related field from an acceptable accredited college or a combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Educational focus in Behavioural Sciences, Psychology, Police Foundations, Child and youth Worker, Developmental Services Worker, Social Services Worker, etc. Registered Behavioural Technician certificate an asset.
- Minimum of (1) year recent full-time work experience supporting adults with complex care needs. Providing support for individuals with an intellectual disability who may also be diagnosed with Mental Health Disorder or Dual Diagnosis experiencing complex behavioural challenges requiring specialized training in complex care needs and the use of treatment plans.
- Experience supporting people with behaviour management techniques is an asset.
- Experience in supporting persons through applied behaviour management techniques are a critical part of this role. Demonstrated ability to respond and calmly in crisis situations through various approved verbal de-escalation and physical intervention techniques. Position requires considerable physical interventions involving frequent bending, turning, twisting, and kneeling in response to crisis behaviour.

**Special factors of this position**:

- Shift work, including asleep nights, weekend work, training days are part of the shift schedule; (asleep nights will be paid at the asleep night rate)
- Required to work statutory holidays as scheduled
- Current Class G driver's license and own reliable transportation to be used in the course of employment
- Since meals are part of the residential program, staff are expected to eat with the supported individuals where applicable
- Participation in ongoing upgrading and training as required
- Demonstrated excellent communication, listening and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in the administration of First Aid, CPR, Safe Management (SMG) and medication dispensing

**Duties and Responsibilities (does not include all duties)**:

- Attending the service plan meeting as designated by the Supervisor of Treatment Home and Specialized Resource Settings
- Knowing and implementing each person's previously designed BSP which may include Consistent staff approach, crisis plans and all behaviour management programs
- Providing feedback which may be used in goal planning regarding individual's supported to the Supervisor of Treatment Home and Specialized Resource Settings
- Acting as an appropriate role model
- Ensuring that the physical, medical and emotional needs of all individuals are attended to
- Administering medications in accordance with the Agency's Standards of Practice providing they have taken the Agency medication training
- Assisting the Supervisor of Treatment Home and Specialized Resource Settings in maintaining appropriate inventory control where applicable
- Participating in their own evaluations as required
- Being responsible for coordinating the daily routine of the shift in the absence of the Accommodation Services Supervisor/Senior Support Worker
- Ensuring proper use of and maintenance of Agency equipment, buildings, property and other assets.
