Quality Control Technician

At **SMS Equipment**, our **Quality Control Technicians** are responsible for performing inspections to ensure that products adhere to standard quality policies and align with specifications. The **Quality Control Technician** will work in conjunction with the QA Lead to ensure maintenance and improvement to the QMS system. This role is located in **Acheson, AB**.

The shift rotation is **7x7.**

The hourly rate for this position is **$42.40 per hour plus applicable premiums.**

**Responsibilities include but are not limited too**:

- Inspect/test in-process and completed products to ensure compliance with internal specifications.
- Ensure quality control documentation is compiled and completed in a timely matter.
- Identify and control all non-conforming products and work with stakeholders to develop corrective actions to reduce/eliminate recurrences.
- Create and maintain QA control documentation.
- Promote quality performance improvement across the department.
- Engaging staff to incorporate quality methods into their work.
- Perform internal QA audits that are compliant with company policies, practices, and procedures.
- Other related duties as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Proven ability to accurately use precision measuring equipment with a high level of repeatability.
- Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma best practices in a shop environment.
- possess a firm commitment to providing _Best In Class_ products and services to our customers.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, to implement quality improvement initiatives in a positive and pro-active manner.
- ISO 9001:2008 Internal Auditor Certification an asset.
- Previous experience working with mining class equipment is considered an asset.
- CWB Level 1 or 2 Inspector certification is considered an asset.
