**The Opportunity**:
**Key areas of responsibility are**:
- Recruiting clients by liaising with community services, agencies, employers, and training institutions to increase client referrals;
- Conducting strength-based need assessments to find each person’s skills, interests, employment history and career goals as well as their and their families’ settlement needs;
- Working with clients to develop and implement settlement plans;
- Assisting clients in accessing appropriate programs and services for which they are eligible and ensure successful linking to these services;
- Detecting issues such as depression, family violence, substance use, employer abuse, and intergenerational conflicts through the early identification of warning signs that may be present and refer clients to the appropriate support services;
- Supporting clients during the job search, selection and hiring processes;
- Coordinating with community and employment service providers (e.g., Work BC) and referring clients to more appropriate services as needed;
- Planning, developing, and facilitating group orientation workshop sessions;
- Developing and maintaining a network of appropriate contacts with external service providers to support and follow up on client referrals based on needs and eligibility of client group.
- Maintaining client files, preparing reports, and compiling statistics;
- Conducting program promotion to community services, media sources and internal marketing;
- Assisting in the creation of marketing materials by providing program information to the marketing team.
- Diploma in Social Work or related human services, or Diploma in Community Social Services, and two (2) years recent settlement or employment services related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience;
- Demonstrated knowledge of the needs and issues of temporary foreign workers, provincial nominees, international students, and refugee claimants in Canada;
- Demonstrated ability to promote and implement education and support group services;
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant community resources, programs, and services;
- Knowledge of adult learning models, career decision making process, assessment of pre-employment barriers including English as a Second Language;
- Knowledge and understanding of legislation and policies relevant to employment in Canada (Employment Standards Act, Work Safe BC, etc.);
- Knowledge of post-secondary education system in Canada and the existing employment services available to temporary foreign workers, provincial nominees, international students, and refugee claimants;
- Demonstrated ability of using online communication platforms, such as Zoom and MS Teams;
- Strong networking skills as well as verbal & written communication skills including the ability to present information to multi-cultural groups and employers and one on one counselling to individuals;
- Demonstrated ability to provide support to the target service users in the event of workplace safety or employment standards violation, and other relevant legal assistance;
- Demonstrated working knowledge of verbal and written English and either Punjabi
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team and inter-departmental teams;
- Demonstrated expertise in utilizing CRM systems for efficient and accurate client data management is an asset;
