TEMPORARY PART TIME CHILD & YOUTH WORKER II

MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR MONDAY - FRIDAY DAY TIME HOURS

UP TO 30 HOURS PER WEEK

SALARY $23.63- $28.75 PER HOUR

15% IN LIEU OF BENEFITS

**Responsibilities**:
The Child & Youth Worker is responsible for providing assessment of the strengths and needs of youth, as well as, evaluating the response to intervention and treatment. The CYW shall ensure that the rights of the youth and family are respected and addressed in accordance with legislation and Centre standards, policies and procedures. The Child and Youth Worker will provide interventions for children and families in accordance with their scope of practice and in collaboration with other members of the multi-disciplinary team. CYWs may be assigned to residential, Day Treatment, Intensive Child and Family Intervention or specialized services for complex/special needs children, CYWs are required to work flexible hours including evenings, nights (residential only) weekends. The CYW is required to work within the parameters of the Centre’s Organizational Culture, such as the Diversity and Inclusion policy. The CYW will participate in agency committee work, the development and implementation of new programs, staff training, student placements and clinical consultation to other staff and community agencies.

**Qualifications**:

- The Child and Youth Worker (CYW) position requires:

- A CYW degree/diploma from a recognized and accredited university or college. Consideration will also be given to graduates of Native Child & Family Services diploma graduates.
- Experience in children’s mental health or related field of practice which may include live in treatment, school-based and/or home-based work
- Knowledge of the range of theories and practices applicable to the children's mental health field
- Knowledge and experience in working with families and children who require mental health assessment and treatment
- A valid Ontario Driver's Licence and current First Aid Certification
