**Opportunity Summary**

Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, the Construction Safety Officer will be responsible for working collaboratively with site project teams and in partnership with our sub-trades to implement and monitor the site-specific safety plan, ensure compliance, report concerns, and implement solutions in accordance with Companies safety program. **This role is employed through CLAC, and membership will be required once hired.**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Actively monitor and influence work progress to ensure compliance with the health and safety at the project site.
- Proven ability in building and maintaining strong relationships with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to work with stakeholders to find creative, and balanced solutions to problems.
- Document progress in daily progress reports.
- Provide site orientations to new workers/visitors to the site.
- Monitor compliance with safety procedures and policies.
- Educate workers on safety standards and best practices.
- Initiate and support incident response, notification, and investigation activities.
- Conduct Toolbox meetings for site staff.
- Review all Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRA).
- Act as required to immediately correct unsafe acts or conditions.
- Communicate safety requirements to all on site.

**Qualifications**
- Construction Safety Officer (CSO) certification required.
- Having reliable transportation is essential as this role will require you to travel to different sites across the Lower Mainland.
- Proven ability in building and maintaining strong relationships with multiple stakeholders across various sites.
- Current Fall Protection, SiteReadyBC, Transport endorsement, and Occupational First Aid Level 2 required.
- Proficient working with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Ability to work with stakeholders to find creative, and balanced solutions to problems.
