Workforce Development Coordinator

We are looking for an enthusiastic and results-oriented Workforce Development Coordinator. This is a new role committed to increasing public awareness of careers in our industry while supporting the recruitment and retention needs of our members. Our members play a critical role in building communities across the region and our job is to understand their needs and challenges so we can develop programs to support them.

The Workforce Development Coordinator reports directly to the President and will collaborate with the staff team as necessary to achieve goals as outlined in the organizational strategic plan.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Champion the Let’s Go Build campaign to maximize campaign engagement and public awareness of the industry.
- Connect Let’s Go Build and manage community outreach presentations and activities (classroom, seminars, conference presentations, trade shows).
- Organize industry-specific career fairs and plan WRLA staff and member presence including all logistics pertaining to career fairs.
- Liaise with schools and deliver presentations to students, teachers, and guidance counsellors on opportunities available in the industry for new graduates.
- Research internship programs and establish a formal process to connect student interns with WRLA member businesses.
- Assist in the development of promotional materials as necessary and work closely with the Marketing department to ensure consistency in messaging.
- Connect with curriculum developers in the school system to understand how we can introduce our education programs into the high school and early years stream.
- Assist with seeking out potential funding opportunities, write proposals, and maintain existing funding partnerships that impact the program and complete all funding and reporting requirements.
- Ensure our database/CRM system is maintained and up to date.
- Undertake any other requirements that present themselves or have been assigned.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Strong relationship building and management skills with the ability to understand and address member needs and goals effectively and connect them to various target markets.
- Proven track record of meeting performance targets.
- Business acumen and the ability to engage with small and medium-sized business members.
- Exceptional project management skills, including the ability to organize and execute plans while handling multiple projects concurrently.
- Proficiency in account relationship management and experience with CRM systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the capacity to simplify and present complex information convincingly.
- Proficient in sourcing relevant data and building business case models.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, including problem-solving abilities.
- Initiative and resourcefulness, including comfort with cold calling and a willingness to find solutions independently.
- Ability to travel approximately 1 week/month.
