Gault Nature Reserve (Mont-Saint-Hilaire)

Position Summary:
Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, performs cleaning, maintenance and minor repairs. Stacks, lifts and rearranges furniture and equipment. Locks and unlocks doors. Provides information on room locations to building users. Replenishes supplies in washrooms. Removes garbage.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Cleans rooms. Stacks lift and rearrange furniture and equipment.- Provides directional information to building users (room locations, routes, storage facilities, etc).- Locks and unlocks building doors according to established schedule. Ensures that building is vacated at appropriate time.- Replenishes soap and supplies in washrooms as required. Replaces light bulbs. Collects and removes garbage and recycled materials.- Shovels and uses snowploughs to remove snow from entrance stairs, terraces, ramp and access path.- Performs minor repairs such as plastering, carpentry and painting.- Discusses room set-up with appropriate parties for events such as registration.- Inspects building daily. Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities:
- Experience in event hosting, and rooms setup- Client-focused and service-oriented with a proven ability to provide excellent customer service to a variety of clients in both French and English (academics, students, other Gault Nature Reserve employees and the public).- Must be responsible, adaptable, and reliable.- Experience in maintenance work, housekeeping, and landscaping, and event hosting.- Endurance for light physical work both inside and outside.- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, problem-solve, multitask, prioritize, and organize work.- Proven ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team.- Excellent communication skills.- Knowledge of French and English. McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing.

Additional Information:
This is a soft-funded position.

**Location**:
This position is located at the Gault Nature Reserve, in Ville de Mont-St-Hilaire, Quebec (40 km from downtown Montreal).

Schedule:
The hours of work may include evenings and weekends and vary based on the needs of the Gault Nature Reserve.

Duration:
One-year contract.
