**Some of what you will do**:
Responsible for the monitoring, troubleshooting and general availability of the company’s network infrastructure (LAN/WAN). Ensure the general availability of LAN/WAN services to corporate users and remote users (Stores, Fulfillment centers and remote workers). Perform troubleshooting and administration of network devices and appliances including Routers, Switches, and monitoring platforms. Ensure that the group’s SLA is met or exceeded.

**Specifically, You Will**:
**Support (80%)**
- Interface with other Staples support teams in Canada and the US to identify root cause for complex issues regarding WAN infrastructure problems.
- Minimize any unexpected downtime.
- Provide Tier 3/4 support as appropriate to IS Help Desk on technical systems related issues.
- Ensure the safety and integrity of the data network and all LAN/WAN connected devices
- Ensure network availability and uptime meets or exceeds the guidelines
- Participate in an on-call rotation to support the business during network outages (7x24)
- Travel occasionally as required (approximately 10%)

**Projects/Implementation (20%)**
- Provide timely feedback and develop advanced methods to improve the group’s SLA
- Work with Network engineers on implementation of medium-large sized projects to solve technical issues or implement new services on tight timetables.
- Solve technical issues or implement new services on tight timelines
- Work with Network engineers to develop and test annually disaster recovery services and business continuity

**Some of what you need**:

- Hands on experience and understanding of Cisco routing and switching, access points and wireless controllers, Cisco Prime and DNAC
- Experience with Splunk and InfoBlox
- Good understanding of Cisco Umbrella and other cloud web filtering platforms
- Strong understanding of Netflow, SNMP and network performance monitoring tools. Experience with Solarwinds
- Strong understanding of Network Fundamentals, protocols and technologies TCP/IP, VLAN, WAN, MPLS, DNS, DHCP, address translation, Etc. Strong communication and presentation, both written and oral
