**NOTE**:_This posting represents a full-time replacement contract until January 30, 2026.**SCOPE**
Reporting to the Manager, Access Centre for Students with Disabilities (ACSD), the incumbent provides students, faculty, and staff with relevant information, interpretations, and recommendations on various issues pertaining to the individual accessibility and accommodation needs of students with disabilities (i.e., physical, medical conditions, mental health, learning, injuries). They act as an advisor, analyze, and review student documentation in assessing the student’s need and eligibility of accessibility services and accommodations. Using this information, the incumbent sets out an accommodation plan with the student, which is reviewed as needed. They act as a resource and support to students, faculty, and staff in accessibility. They contribute to the on-going improvement of university accessibility and inclusion for students with disabilities.
**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Analyze and review documentation in assessing the student’s need and eligibility of accessibility services and accommodations.
- Interview and consult students in the development of an individualized accommodation and accessibility plan; using documentation provided (eg. Psychological assessments, medical documentation), evidence-based criteria set by the unit and by MEES, recommend accommodations and accessibility services to support their university learning experience.
- Consult with students and faculty to ensure that the accommodations and accessibility services as set out in their plan are being implemented appropriately; troubleshoot with students and faculty on complex situations pertaining to their accommodations and accessibility services be available to support students under stress as needed.
- Recommend, coach and support students on the use of current, evidence-based adaptive technologies in the classroom and remotely.
- Support the day-to-day operations and service delivery of the unit and facilitate case analysis and discussions; ensure that the ACSD Manager is regularly advised of issues and concerns relating to complex cases and situations.
- Maintain liaison with faculty, departments and students regarding accommodations and accessibility services pertaining to classrooms and exams.
- Participate as a member of internal/external committees on policies related to accessibility or Universal Design for Learning, or organizations dealing with higher education and disability, and coordinate projects in keeping with the goals of the unit.

- Provide information and psycho-education to faculty and staff via workshops and other evidence-based documentation on disabilities and accessibility/inclusive practices; develop and provide workshops to students on topics related to accommodations, accessibility, and adaptive technologies.
- Ensure the upkeep of documentation, case notes, and student personal information via the processes and system used within the unit.
- Collaborate with the ACSD exams office to ensure that student accommodations and accessibility services are implemented; communicate with the ACSD exams office regarding unique exam set up for students.
- Attend current professional development and be abreast of the literature in the field of disability as it pertains to work within the ACSD.
- Be aware of and collaborate with Campus Wellness and Support and Student Services in supporting students as needed.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Psychology, Disability Studies, Education etc.) and four to seven years of related work experience.
