Job description
- TOP Soccer is looking to hire a passionate and enthusiastic coach to join our brand new coaching team in the Oakville Area, focusing on our Active Start Program (Coed ages 4-6).
- The primary responsibility of coaches is to lead our Active Start sessions in accordance with Club policies and Development Curriculum. This position will oversee all aspects of training and player development on the field.
- The Active Start Program for TOP Soccer in Oakville will run from September-October and then resume in May-June 2025, with practices taking place twice weekly.
- All trainings sessions will be at Appleby College Field on Mondays and Saturdays
- Additional opportunities to work Fun Fairs, Town Events and Parent Nights to help grow the TOP Soccer brand in Oakville

**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Provide Technical coaching to our Active Start athletes, in line with Club curriculum and Development Plan.
- Plan and execute all training sessions with assistance from Technical Director.
- Ensure regular communication with the General Manager on player development and program success
- Work with the General Manager to ensure effective communication between the Club and parents.
- Help build and grow the TOP Sports soccer program in Oakville by helping recruit players through Fun Fairs, Local Events and Parent Nights

**Required Experience**:

- Experience working in youth soccer between the U4 to U12 age groups. (preferred)

**Ideal Certifications**:

TOP Sports is proud to offer the only true competitive multi-sport model for youth in Ontario. The model, which combines hockey, soccer, and lacrosse, serves as the ultimate well-rounded sports experience for youth, prioritizing skill development, local facilities, and quality coaching across all sports while ensuring there are no schedule conflicts.

Early specialization is forcing young athletes to proverbially put “all their eggs in one basket”, and we believe this is a disservice to our children. Science shows us that multi-sport participation is better for kids' overall development than early sport specialization.

In our first year in Oakville we are starting our programs with 4-6 year olds to introduce them to our range of sports and help them fall in love with each one. We want to instill a love of sport in the young athletes and an understanding of the benefits of our multi sport model to the parents.

With our Multi-sport model, we solve this problem by giving kids the opportunity to experience three new sports in one calendar year. With no schedule overlap, less travel time, and seasonal schedules that means a more well-rounded sports experience, more time back into families' lives, and fewer headaches to allow children the opportunity to play more than one sport.

Our belief is that by exposing kids to as many sports as possible at young ages we can create better individual sport athletes in later years, and our team is committed to providing the best youth sports experience possible, prioritizing development and enjoyment over winning at all costs.
