**Overview**

**Requirements for the position**

**Education**:

- Completion of High School
- Electronics Assembly Training at an approved institution such as Douglas College an asset

**Experience**:

- Minimum 2 years of related manufacturing experience
- Experience should include some hands-on assembly, especially SMT hand soldering, installation, or fabrication

**Responsibilities**
- Setting up parts on the machine/feeders
- Running the SMT line
- Responsible to ensure the SMT equipment and work center is operated safely at all times.
- Responsible to understand, maintain and adhere to general handling and care of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) sensitive components and materials.
- Responsible for the accurate identification, storage and handling of component parts.
- General clean up of working area.
- Additional duties as requested.

**Skills**
- Knowledge of electronic components, printed circuit boards, subassemblies and assemblies
- Ability to solder and manually assemble various electronic components on printed circuit boards using through-hole and SMT processes
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision, or cooperatively with others in a team environment

**Physical**:

- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to carry components and boards safely
- Ability to sit at a desk or work bench most of the day

**Working Conditions**:

- Working mostly indoors in a temperature-controlled environment

**Schedule**: 8-hour shift, typically 7:00am to 3:30pm with two paid 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
