As the **Field** **Technician**, you will be responsible for soil sampling and mapping fields, which is an integral part of the SWAT process at Croptimistic. You will report to the Operations Manager (Eastern SK) and be a member on the Farmer Services team while communicating with multiple departments and learning about our SWAT ECOSYSTEM. You will be located in the North-East Saskatchewan area to best facilitate surrounding fields; in the Melfort or Naicam region, and be expected to travel often including overnight stays.

**Responsibilities**
- Soil sample fields using SWAT MAPS, following GPS-referenced points
- Collect geo-referenced electrical conductivity, RTK elevation, and field boundaries
- Assist with in-season variable-rate field assessments, including plant stand counts
- Assist agronomy staff with in-season insect and disease scouting
- Champion the brand and help grow the business throughout Saskatchewan

**Requirements**:

- Able to work independently and think strategically
- Strong computer skills, with willingness to learn GIS and farm management software
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Basic mechanical knowledge and/or experience considered an asset
- Relevant education and/or experience in agriculture, with knowledge of Western Canadian agriculture specifically, would be advantageous
- High-level of integrity and commitment to providing unrivaled service
- Class 5 driver’s license, with 4-wheel, field driving experience (abstract may be requested)
- Must be willing to work overtime in peak seasons (Spring & Fall) including Saturdays
