Temporary Part-Time | Shift: Wednesdays, 2:45 pm to 4:15 pm | Start Date: ASAP End Date: June 28, 2024 | Location: Jean Steckle Public School, 130 Woodbine Ave, Kitchener ON

Pay Rate: $24.80 per hour (based on current funding) + 2% in lieu of benefits

**Your Contributions & Impact**:

- Take an active role working in a program with children who have complex needs.
- Implement engaging and developmentally appropriate activities for 4 to 12-year-olds which allow for choice, creativity, and independence
- Take responsibility for the health and safety of the children in your care
- Follow daily schedules and take responsibility for clean-up and organization of supplies
- Act as a positive role model for the children
- Work as part of a team of Youth Educators
- Maintain effective communication with staff, parents, facility staff, and program manager

**You have...**
- Experience working with School Age children who have complex needs, in a licensed childcare, education, or recreation setting
- Registered Early Childhood Educator or related degree (asset)
- Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators Registration # (asset)
- Standard Food Safety Handler’s Certificate (asset)
- Understanding of the Child Care and Early Years Act and familiarity with the use of assessment tools such as ECERS, ITERS, SACERS, High Five
- Enthusiasm, initiative, and a working knowledge of child development
- Proven ability to work as an effective team member
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

**Mandatory Requirements**
- Up-to-date Standard First Aid and CPR Level-C certification
- Vulnerable Sector Record Check
