**Our expectations**:
Reporting to the Operations Support & Planning Manager, and in collaboration with various RONA inc. internal clients, the Training Advisor (DC) will work closely with managers in the Distribution Center (DC) and the Training & Development team. The incumbent will participate in the development, implementation, and assessment of Distribution Center training programs in order to contribute to employee development in the Distribution Centers operations.
**Your role**:
- Support training initiatives and analyze operational training needs in order to provide efficient training solutions, support achievement of KPIs and the needs of Distribution Center Operations
- In partnership with Engineering and Operations, create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), identify learning gaps and develop and execute program enhancements to training modules for operations associates
- Manage MHE training program for new Distribution Center associates as well as retraining for existing Team Members for the region
- Lead and/or participate in training sessions, work sessions and/or committees on the various projects related to the team’s activities
- Responsible for maintaining employee records and certifications for Forklift operators and Trainer programs.
- Participate in the development and implementation of training programs for management and team members in worksite safety practices such as, fire prevention, lockout/tagout, fall protection and correct handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, material handling equipment and other materials
- Assess the effectiveness of training tools, solutions, and channels and work with internal experts to identify learning gaps, analyze, elaborate, or modify the programs as required
- Monitor the budget and produce dashboards for the client group and provide updates on a regular basis to the Training and Development team
- Organize and maintain MHE trainer certifications (Performance Instructors) for all trainers with external organizations (Ontario)
- Manage and coordinate suppliers and external contractors that offer learning and development services, and ensure the quality and compliance of the products they develop as needed
- Other duties as assigned
**The qualifications we are looking for**:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience)
- 3-5 years previous experience within a training advisor role which includes experience developing and implementing training programs for various groups
- Familiarity with Distribution Center operations; previous warehouse experience
- Previous power equipment Training experience (e.g.: forklift, reach truck, yard truck, etc) an asset
- Demonstrated team-building skills and ability to build rapport and trust with others
- Experience and willingness to coach others
- Priority setting skills to manage multiple tasks and deliver results in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Approaches change optimistically; adjusts quickly and proficiently to changing work environment
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Ability to work independently
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
