**Purpose**:
The Knowledge Mobilization Specialist (KMS) role supports faculty members to generate broad impacts by connecting research outputs to target audiences. The role works with faculty members to develop targeted knowledge mobilization plans for research projects and proposals. In addition, the role coordinates with other knowledge mobilization experts, both internally and externally, to ensure that faculty members, trainees, students, and external partners have access to knowledge mobilization expertise and best practices. The role requires detailed knowledge of knowledge mobilization best practices, frameworks, and methodologies, and proven ability to engage directly with faculty members on KM content development. The role advances KM activities for the School's researchers by:
Creating and maintaining effective working relationships with faculty, trainees, and students.
Understanding ongoing research projects and KM funding agency requirements.
Assisting with creating opportunities for research partnerships with external organizations.
Working with new and existing research partnerships.
Liaising with the Schulich's marketing and communications team to facilitate promotion and communicate the impact of research outputs, both internally and externally.

The Knowledge Mobilization Specialist role supports the vision, mission, values and strategic direction of the Schulich School of Business and York University, and contributes to a positive, supportive, and student-focused team environment of high performance, respect, trust, collaboration, and continuous improvement, while embracing diversity and fostering inclusion.

**Education**:
Master's degree in a relevant field or an equivalent of 5 years recent experience (defined as within the last six years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.

**Experience**:
Three (3) years of experience working with a specific knowledge mobilization or communications mandate, either in a university research administrative environment or in an equivalent government, NGO, community, or voluntary agency, in a research or policy environment. Experience with methods for measuring and incenting research impact, including alternative metrics which capture online activity around a researcher's output. Experience using and instructing on the use of social media such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube preferably in a research environment, is required.

Excellent judgment, oral and written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to multitask, set priorities and meet tight deadlines.
Strong analytical and questioning skills.

Able to be flexible, self-directed and demonstrates initiative and creativity.
Ability to maintain high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Able to work with ambiguity.
Advanced skills in MS Office, intermediate skill in web design software, such as HTML or Dreamweaver, and basic database software such as MS Access.
Ability to use Google analytics and other web metrics, preferably as related to measurement of research impact in the Canadian post-secondary sector.
Knowledge of University research and financial policies and procedures.
