**THE OPPORTUNITY**

The UGDSB is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team for a **temporary full-time** opportunity in the capacity of **Specialized Mental Health Interventionist**. This is a 10-month position (yearly from Sept. - June following the school year calendar) to commence as soon as possible, with an unknown end date.

**Location**:
Itinerant - various locations within the UGDSB

**Hours/FTE**:
1.0 FTE (35 hours per week)

**Salary Range**:
**Standard Grid - Social Workers**: $74,041 - $94, 704, inclusive of 6.5% job market adjustment. (per annum, based on 35 hour per week position)

**Standard Grid - Psychologists or Psychological Associates**: $79,255 - $101,373, inclusive of 14% job market adjustment. (per annum, based on 35 hour per week position)

**Qualified Ph.D. Grid****:

- Psychologists or Psychological Associates with a Doctoral Degree**: $88,492 - $112,074, inclusive of 21% job market adjustment. (per annum, based on 35 hour per week position)

**Board Information**:
10 months; temporary, full-time; Professional Student Services Personnel

**Responsibilities**:
In this position, the mental health professional will be responsible for keeping clinical files on the students that reflect both the direct clinical service provided as well as consultation notes, providing brief mental health assessments when appropriate, helping the school team to develop the most effective Behaviour/Mental Health Plans, completing observations and data collection when required to help the teacher with classroom planning, liaising with community partners and supporting family and school members to work together to help meet the student’s mental health needs.

**Qualifications**:

- Psychologists or Psychological Associates with a Doctoral degree or Master’s degree who are registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario or Social Workers with a Master’s degree in Social Work who are Registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers
- In-depth clinical training and experience working with children and youth with significant mental health behavioural needs including aggression and significant emotional dysregulation.
- Experienced clinicians who have a minimum of 3 years’ clinical experience in a school or mental health setting will be given preference.
