Scope

Reggies Solidarity Cooperative Bar is Concordia’s student run on-campus social hub. As a cooperative, Reggies aims to empower its worker members, provide affordable food and drinks to its user members while providing an accessible venue for student groups and community. The Reggies General Manager position serves as the hingepin between the Board of Directors, the worker members and the user members. The General Manager will work closely with the Operations Manager and the Head Bartender as the key leadership team of the Coop.

Financial Reporting and Admin
- In collaboration with the Board and the CSU work to develop a long term financial plan
- Develop, manage and present financial reports to workers and the Board (for all departments)Generate and analyze sales and labour reports

Generate monthly and annual operating budgets, outline budget variances
Relay balance sheet and profit & loss statements in a timely manner
- Convene the Finance committee
- Liaise with the bookkeeper and TreasurerOversee account payables and receivables

Monthly MEV report submission
TPS/TVQ remittances
Annual financial review (by third party)
- CNESST liaising and pay-equity support
- Ensure all the permits and legal obligations of the Coop are fulfilled
- Maintain effective stock management and report any variance to the bookkeeperOversee FOH ordering and goods rotation

Manage BOH ordering and goods rotation
Lead management team to conduct monthly inventory of both FOH and BOH
Overview of all inventory expenditures (catering, kitchen and bar)

Worker Members Management
- Lead management team; communicating effectively across the organization
- Provide leadership, direction, coaching and support to achieve organizational excellence
- In collaboration with the Board and Management team, lead the recruitment, hiring and management of worker members (FOH & BOH)Staff hiring & training

Staff scheduling
Staff evaluations
Execute payroll and labor accuracy
- Ensure labor costs objectives are adhered to
- Empower worker members in new responsibilities as needed

Operations Oversight
- Support FOH management by Operations Manager and Head BartenderEnsure health and safety regulations are met and maintained

Oversee food and drink quality
Night time shift management
- Directly manage kitchen operations and workersMonitor food quality, portioning and sanitation standards

Manage BOH workflow organization and maintain equipment
Ensure MAPAQ regulations are met and maintained
- Lead menu planning and pricing (liaise with Food and Bev Committee)Improve menu and items based on user feedback and cost

Monitor food cost and update prices as needed

General Responsibilities
- Report monthly to the Board of Directors; present activity and financial status reports identifying critical activities and changes, including a budget update
- Assist in governance development; facilitate policy creation and updates
- Act on behalf of the Board to both the Government, Concordia Administration and Worker members
- Maintain and communicate an organized, reliable work schedule
- Recording detailed work time log
- Participating in performance evaluations
- Foster and maintain a welcoming, outgoing atmosphere

**Qualifications**:

- 2 years Bar management experience
- MAPAQ Food Handlers certification (minimum)
- Excellent English oral and written skills
- Moderate French oral skills (an asset)
- Knowledge and understanding of the cooperative business model (an asset)
- Knowledge and experience of working with Safer Spaces policies (an asset)

Physical Environment
- Exposure to potential hazards exists with respect to cutting equipment, ice makers, coffee makers, mixers, food allergens and other work aids necessary to perform job duties
- Exposure of up to 176C while cooking, or washing dishes
- Exposure to -1C to 4C while handling refrigerated products
- Exposure to -22C while handling frozen products
- You may perform any number of physical activities to accomplish assigned duties, such as walking and standing (up to 90% of the work time), bending, reaching, repetitive motions, and lifting between 40 to 50 lbs.

- $26 to $30 per hour, depending on expertise (especially in financial management)Possible raise upon evaluation at completion of probationary period
