JBH is a Clinical Education site in conjunction with McMaster University, and designated as an Academic Community Teaching Hospital. Its expanded campus includes the state-of-the-art Michael Lee-Chin & Family Patient Tower, featuring a new Emergency Department, 295 acute inpatient beds, 9 new Operating Rooms, and post-anaesthetic care unit to support expanded medical, surgical, and outpatient services. JBH is also a partner member of the Burlington Ontario Health Team (OHT).

**Responsibilities**
- Review purchase requisitions (PR’s), and verify with requestor where additional information is required.
- Update PO confirmations in Meditech with the supplier’s Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA).
- Forward pricing, catalogue number, and vendor changes to the assigned Purchasing lead.
- Follow up on PO backorders on a timely basis and update the ETA date and add comments in Meditech.
- Process repairs, loaner instruments, sets and return POs as required (obtain all return authorization numbers from vendors).
- Handle phone call inquiries and follow up on requests.
- Assist with the month-end closing process by closing the periods for Purchasing and Inventory in Meditech and creating the appropriate inventory reports.
- Electronic filing of all relevant purchasing documents, and other general clerical duties as assigned.
- Work is time sensitive and shall be completed in a timely manner; specifically same day or next business day latest.

**Qualifications**:

- Qualified applicants have a working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel programs.
- Previous experience with Meditech Material Management Module is mandatory.
- Purchasing/Supply Chain experience preferred.
- Exposure to medical/surgical supplies would be an asset.
- Ability to work independently in a busy environment with good public relations skills while maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks is essential.
- Reliability and consistent attendance, punctuality and performance required.
- Excellent organization and prioritization skills along with demonstrated customer service.
- Judgment and decision-making abilities with attention to prioritization, detail and accuracy are essential.
- Excellent command of the English language and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team in a constantly changing environment.
- Flexible, self-directed and able to work effectively with mínimal supervision.
