Job Overview:
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections and quality control checks on piping components at various stages of fabrication to ensure compliance with drawings, project specifications, applicable codes, and industry standards.
- Conduct visual inspections, measurements, and tests to verify the quality, alignment, dimensions, and integrity of piping components, welds, supports, and other related materials.
- Document and maintain accurate records of inspection results, including non-conformities, deviations, and corrective actions taken.
- Review project drawings, specifications, and procedures to ensure compliance with design requirements and project standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve any quality-related issues or concerns.
- Conduct material inspections, including verification of material certifications, identification of material defects, and compliance with material specifications.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of subcontractors and vendors to ensure adherence to quality control requirements.
- Participate in pre-fabrication meetings, progress meetings, and other project-related discussions as necessary.
- Stay updated on the latest industry standards, codes, and regulations related to piping systems and make recommendations for process improvements.
- Provide guidance and support to construction and fabrication teams regarding quality control procedures and best practices
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent. A relevant technical degree or certification is preferred.
- Proven experience in piping quality control, inspections, or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of piping codes and standards such as SAE, ASME B31.3, ASME B31.1, API 570, and relevant international codes.
- Familiarity with welding procedures, NDT (non-destructive testing) techniques, and inspection methods for piping systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and document non-conformities or deviations accurately.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with project teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and procedures.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve quality-related issues.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the construction industry.
- Minimum 3-5 year experience in the field.
