Nestled on the southern coastal mountain slopes overlooking the lush Fraser River Valley, Mission is a rapidly growing and dynamic community of approximately 41,500 residents, 20 kilometers north of the US border and 70 kilometers east of Vancouver. Although Mission is part of a broader metropolitan area, it still maintains its distinct and welcoming small-town flavor.

The City of Mission’s Development Services Department - Planning Division is seeking a dynamic individual to join our multi-disciplinary team as a temporary, full-time Planning Technician for approximately one year (June 2024 to end of May 2025).

You will provide assistance, information and interpretation to the public and developers relating to general inquiries and various municipal bylaws pertaining to development, Zoning Bylaw regulations, the Official Community Plan (OCP) and provincial legislation.

**Qualifications**
You will possess a post-secondary degree or diploma in Planning or a related discipline plus a minimum of two years of relatable experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) will be a definite asset. A valid Class 5 BC driver's license is required.

**Additional Information**
The 2024 hourly rate for this CUPE position is $44.78 plus 4.4% in lieu of all benefits increasing to 12.4% after completion of the probationary period. We offer a 9-day fortnight schedule (extended hours for nine days and one day off every two weeks).
