**THE ROLE**
MEC is looking for a Vice-President, e-Commerce and Digital Experience to lead and create an aspirational online shopping experience for our members. You are the architect of MEC’s digital strategy and lead the e-commerce organization to deliver a profitable, omni challenge experience that reflects a modern, innovative view of how we will differentiate ourselves in a crowded marketplace. This role is responsible to drive our on-line business with a clear on-line product digital merchandising strategy, a plan around growth through marketing acquisition, traffic, SEO etc. We are looking for a leader who has a strong business acumen, uses data to inform strategy and has the technical understanding of where to focus our full stack design and development team to best optimize site experience.
**Location: This is a hybrid role and will be based in Vancouver from our Home Office location - **887 Great Northern Way, Vancouver, BC V5T 4T5**
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Own channel sales and profitability forecasting anchored in key KPI’s, member buying behaviour, industry trends and merchandising strategy
- Accountable for the ecommerce P&L and a tight coordination with finance
- Lead the strategic roadmap for our web merchandising strategy and digital experiences informed by our marketing and merchandising goals.
- Collaborate with the Merchandising and Marketing teams to effectively present seasonal collections, generate brand excitement, and build demand for MEC’s private label products
- Lead a high-performing digital/ecommerce team that forges strong cross-functional relationships
- Prepare annual budgets, provide ongoing results analysis and forecasting, and drive prioritization of investments through quantitative business justification
**THE QUALIFICATIONS**
- Ideally previous experience an a Vice-President, e-Commerce and Digital Experience or similar Senior-level experience in a medium to large fast-growing ecommerce and digital marketing organization
- Proven track record in building or optimizing digital organizations
- Strong proficiency in online merchandising, user experience design, and usability best practices
- Analytically driven approach to management and decision-making, with strong proficiency in web analytics, performance digital marketing, customer segmentation and analytics, and testing/optimization techniques
- Previous experience operating in a multi-channel environment (wholesale, brick-and-mortar retail, direct mail, online) a big plus
- Track record of innovative strategic thinking combined with pragmatic, roll-up-the-sleeves execution, and results delivery
- Ability to work across functions and within an executive team to catalyze change in a positive, collaborative, and transparent way
- Demonstrated leadership in recruiting, retaining, and managing a high-performing team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts and analyses up and down the organization to influence others
