Norwood Sawmills is a worldwide leader in portable sawmills and is looking for a motivated strategic professional to support the finance function, provide leadership and guidance around the accounting practices. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will encompass Norwood’s policies and procedures to continuously strengthen the financial growth of the Company.

**What you bring to the team**:

- University Degree in business with a concentration in accounting or an accounting degree
- A strategic financial professional that holds a CPA designation in good standing.
- Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in an accounting department.
- Solid background and understanding of accounting practices and principles with the ability to support the full cycle accounting.
- Financial reporting and analysis skills with a mastery in excel (knowledge of NetSuite a plus)
- Entrepreneurial Spirit: motivated to continually improve the efficiency of business financial practices.
- You have the ability to work collaboratively across the organization.
- Advanced proficiency in developing, presenting, and implementing policies and practices at a senior level.

**A typical day for the Financial Controller at Norwood Sawmills**:

- Establish and implement consistent guidelines, processes, and procedures within the accounting department.
- In partnering with the CFO, establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, and reporting standards on biweekly, monthly, and annual basis.
- Evaluate the business's state, identify issues, and advise on the impact of long-range planning and growth strategies.
- Ensure Accounts Payables are paid / Accounts Receivables are entered and collected, in a timely manner.
- Oversee and support the operations of the Accounting Team and assisting with ongoing tasks.
- Monitor expense control variances from the budget and report any significant issues to the CFO.
- Lead Month-end and Year-end closing processes and preparation of financial statements.
- Develop and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows.
- Responsible for advising on current compliance, regulations, practices, tax laws, reporting requirements and industry trends.
