**Primary Duties**
The Conservation Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the cost-effective delivery of energy and water conservation programs on behalf of Utilities Kingston. The incumbent administers conservation plans to ensure the achievement of provincial energy conservation targets.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Update and ensure adherence with Kington Hydro’s Conservation and Demand Management plan.
2. Oversee the development, delivery and regulatory compliance of Kingston Hydro and Utilities Kingston energy and water conservation programs and incentives.
4. Represent and liaise with general public, developers, commercial interests, partners, government agencies, community groups and volunteers for meetings, presentations, site visits, audits, etc.
5. Collaborate with customers to develop energy management plans for their facilities.
6. Keep abreast of changes in the marketplace and new conservation programs and coordinate delivery of programs.
7. Ensure that programs, activities and conservation measures are cost effective utilizing standard cost effectiveness tests.
8. Track, analyze, and report on sustainability performance metrics.
9. Oversee and confirm evaluation, measurement and verification of energy/water savings consistent with provincial and municipal guidelines.
10. Monitor regulatory changes to ensure Utilities Kingston is compliant with relevant conservation legislation, regulations, codes and guidelines.
11. Ensure adherence to provincial and municipal budgets.
12. Participate in community and industry groups representing the organization.
13. Develop and deliver water and energy conservation programming to public and staff.
14. Support the integration of sustainability practices into operations, processes, and product development.
Skills and Abilities:
- Advanced communication skills and the ability to translate technical terms into common language
- Intermediate analytical skills
- Intermediate organizational and administrative skills
- Advanced ability to build relationships and work with internal and external stakeholders
Knowledge:
- Advanced knowledge of energy management and conservation
- Intermediate literacy in energy and water management
- Intermediate knowledge of the suite of provincial conservation programs
- Basic knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety requirements as it relates to individuals, the organization and operational requirements
**Education, Certification and Other Qualifications Required**
Experience:
- Post secondary diploma/degree in Energy Systems Engineering or equivalent
- 1-3 years in an energy management role focused on the delivery of water and energy conservation programs
- Class G drivers’ license
