Community Living British Columbia (CLBC) is a Crown corporation responsible for arranging supports and services for adults with developmental disabilities and their families. CLBC staff strive to advance the vision of _Communities of belonging, lives with connection_.

**The Role**:
**This role requires the e**xpertise and experience of a person who lives with a developmental disability.**

As a Strategic Initiatives Advisor at CLBC, you will be a part of CLBC's _Research, Development, and Strategic Planning _team.

Some important parts of the job are:

- talking to and learning from people who live with a developmental disability, their families, CLBC staff, service providers and other partners
- learning about what people need and thinking about the way things work now
- helping to figure out ways to improve services and supports where we find out they aren't working well right now

The best person for the job is a strong team player, dependable and respectful to everyone. They also have experience:

- making presentations to large and small groups
- trying out new ideas with lots of different people
- listening to different ideas that people have in a respectful way
- figuring out what people think about new projects and ideas
- figuring out ways to solve problems and make services and supports better

**Qualifications**:

- **Expertise and experience as a person who lives with a developmental disability**:

- Knowledge of the Community Living Movement in BC
- Knowledge of how people with developmental disabilities get services in BC
- Experience working on more than one thing at a time
- Experience working with team members and others in person, over the phone and/or video conference in a positive way

**Location**:This position can work from any CLBC Vancouver Coastal region office. A Vancouver office is preferred.

**Hybrid work** Combines on-site office work with the flexibility to work from home within BC after passing a 6 month probationary period.

**Additional Info**:
Term/Status: Regular, Full-time: 70 hours bi-weekly
Classification/Salary: Social Program Officer R15 - Starts at $59,015 annually
