The Employment Case Management Coordinator (ECMC) provides employability skills support and case management to Indigenous adult community members who are in receipt of EIA. The ECMC is a member of the Kaskihtamasowin (Good and successful life) employment program
- a program that will offer Indigenous cultural programming, employability skills and wraparound supports. Kaskihtamasowin employment program supports individuals to become financially independent while also working through their healing journey.
**Responsibilities**
- Develop and facilitate a condensed 6-week employment skills (resume, job search, interview skills, etc.) training module throughout the year.
- Provide additional 1 on 1 employment training/support sessions with clients as needed.
- Assist clients in gaining direct employment.
- Build partnerships with local employers with the intent of helping to secure employment opportunities for individuals attending the program.
- Provide ongoing case management, culturally sensitive advocacy, outreach, and support.
- Work with and schedule sessions with in-house Indigenous Elder who will share teachings and facilitate discussions in a group setting as well as booking one on one session for those needing additional space to connect with the Elder.
- Conduct follow-up assessments with clients and provide additional support as needed.
- Connect with service providers, agencies, schools, and other stakeholders on an on-going basis, to determine current resources, programs, and available services for Indigenous adults.
- Maintain accurate records of program activities, participant files, statistical data and report monthly on all activity.
- Attend staff meetings and any other committee meetings.
**Qualifications**
- Post secondary degree in a related field is an asset.
- Experience working with Indigenous community members.
- Experience in developing, organizing, and facilitating employment skills training.
- Deep understanding of the challenges and assets of the Indigenous community in relation to the labour market and community development.
- Ability to effectively develop, nurture, engages and support partnerships with a variety of stakeholders, both internal and external,
- Solid understanding of the social, political, and cultural landscape in Winnipeg,
- Cross cultural awareness and sensitivity is required to work effectively with the diversity of our client base
- Strong knowledge of Anti-Racism framework, UNDRIP, TRC and anti-oppressive practices,
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record and Child Abuse Registry Check.
- A valid driver’s licence is a requirement.
Work Hours: The hours of work will be between 9:00-5:00pm Mondays to Fridays; however, some weekends may be required as per the needs of the program.
