Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) currently has an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual to support our Product Planning & Development (PPD) department. This is a full-time opportunity and will report to the Manager, Toyota Product Planning. PPD is an exciting department at TCI, we are the first to learn details about future product and we provide a unique Canadian perspective into the development of new vehicles. We also play a critical role to the organization by ensuring timely and accurate vehicle information is shared internally, with our dealers, and transmitted to manufacturing. In this role you will be immersed into the Canadian automotive market and will be challenged every day with something new.

**What You’ll be Doing**:

- Present to various audiences - field staff to excite them, internal staff to alert them to challenges and opportunities, and other Toyota organizations to advocate for product changes
- Dig into details - understand all the vehicle specifications, how they change each model year, impact to TCI, and if we need to advocate for a change
- Conduct market research - impact of competitor updates, learn about new technologies and forecast how consumers will accept them, attend activities in USA and Japan to learn about new products, conduct trades with competitors to learn more about their products, and much more

**_ Near-Term (Next Model Year)_**
- Complete deep analysis for upcoming model year to understand the competitors, customers, sales, and other market factors, while identifying challenges and opportunities
- Present to various internal stakeholders as TCI prepares for launch
- Propose the grades, packages, options, colours and gain consensus based on your analysis
- Play a critical role in launching the upcoming model year by ensuring accurate information is inputted into systems, shared with dealers, displayed on the website, and shared in press releases
- Manage PPD milestones related to launching upcoming model year to ensure launch is on-time and information is accurate

**_ Long-Term (Next Three Model Years)_**
- Understand vehicle development process, work with counterparts in USA and Japan to determine when and how TCI can influence future model years
- Complete deep analysis for future model years to understand the competitors, customers, sales, and other market factors while identifying challenges and opportunities
- Generate insights to provide Canadian-unique input into the vehicle development process advocating for necessary product changes to counterparts in USA and Japan
- Conduct study to determine required product power (grades, features, price) to achieve TCI goals
- Study proposed product changes and special editions to understand impact to the Canadian market and if it aligns with TCI goals, and provide your recommendation on volume and if TCI will request changes

**What You’ll Bring**:

- University degree in Engineering, Business or related field
- 3+ years of related automotive experience; product planning experience is an asset
- The right attitude - stay curious, ask questions, seek a deeper understanding
- Strong experience analyzing data from sales, vehicle specification databases, and consumer surveys
- Ability to take complex information and simplify for various audiences
- Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously with mínimal supervision and adherence to all deadlines
- Experience in creating proposals to management and building cross functional consensus
- Interest in cultivating new relationships
- Proven ability to initiate and improve work processes to increase efficiencies
- Detail & process oriented
- Excellent Microsoft Office computer skills, advanced Excel is an asset
- Strong presentation skills is an asset
- Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset
