Reporting to the Director, Employee Relations, the Manager, Employee Wellness and Workplace Abilities Office (WAO) (the "Manager") provides leadership, strategic direction, operational management and claims management support. The Manager has accountability to ensure effective the implementation and monitoring of wellness programs and management of occupational and non-occupational disability claims and accommodations. The Manager leads the development of policy and process improvement initiatives within the portfolio.
The Manager provides leadership, oversight and guidance to the Wellness and WAO team who provide support and consultation on employee wellness, disability claims management and workplace accommodations.

**What You’ll Be Doing**
- Providing leadership and direction to the Employee Wellness and WAO team and maximizes staff performance through effective recruitment, training mentoring/coaching, workflow/project planning and employee development and performance management.
- Providing leadership, direction and integration of employee wellness and workplace abilities strategies, initiatives and activities in alignment with the goals of the portfolio and Sheridan; maintains, promotes and enhances a respectful, and supportive workplace while ensuring compliance with relevant employment legislation, policies and procedures.
- Planning and facilitating community engagement at Sheridan to develop insights in the evaluation of employee well-being approaches, policy and process development.
- Working collaboratively as a key member of the HR Management team to set unit priorities, culture and build capacity. This includes overseeing the operational management of budgets and financial resources by planning, developing and monitoring fiscal resources.
- Performing other duties as assigned

- 5-years previous leadership experience managing the wellness and claim management functions, including multiple industries and locations
- Solid technical knowledge of effective Return-to-Work(RTW) programs
- Project management experience including various tools and methodologies
- Senior level report writing and program planning
