- **The Organization**_

The employer for this position is _Canadian Religious Stewardship _(CRS), a not-for-profit charitable organization established by Catholic Religious Institutes from across Canada. CRS is assisting Catholic Religious Sisters and Priests across Canada. This position will be based at Presentation Manor for Seniors in Scarborough Ontario.

The Sisters and Priests live together in community with other religious and lay persons in independent, assisted living, and memory care at Presentation Manor for Seniors and at Providence Health Care.
- **The Position**_

Reporting to the CRS Care & Operations Manager, the Care Companion is responsible for enhancing the well-being of Presentation Manor residents, with a focus on providing companionship and assistance. Your responsibilities will include offering support to residents who may be less active, especially in Providence Healthcare Facility and Assisted Living at Presentation Manor. This role requires a compassionate and attentive approach to address the personal needs of residents, ensuring their comfort and maintaining a caring environment.
- **Key Responsibilities**_

**Collaboration with CRS and Presentation Manor**:

- The CRS Health Care team provides support to the residents and congregations we serve, working collaboratively with other CRS staff and the Presentation Manor Director of Care and Health Care team. While we play an essential role in care coordination, final decisions for residents living at Presentation Manor are made by their Director of Care.
- Complete other duties as required by the CRS Care & Operations Manager.
- Work in partnership with each member of the Religious congregations and the Presentation Manor and CRS care teams to support individual care and service plans aligned with identified priorities and desired outcomes.

**Companionship and Visitations**:

- Regularly visit residents who may be less active, fostering connections through conversation, companionship, and emotional support.

**Personal Care Assistance**:

- Monitor and address personal needs, such as clothing, toiletries, hearing aids, and other necessities.

**Room Maintenance**:

- Assist residents with the care of their rooms, ensuring cleanliness and organization.

**Health Monitoring**:

- Report any changes in the health of residents to the nursing healthcare team, particularly RPNs on shift, while maintaining overall reporting responsibility to the Care & Operations Manager (CRS), ensuring open communication channels.

**Accompaniment and Assistance**:

- Accompany residents to activities, appointments, and meals as needed, providing assistance and support.

**Post-Operative and Illness Support**:

- Offer help to residents experiencing brief illnesses or post-operative recovery, ensuring their comfort and well-being.

**Confidentiality and Reporting**:

- Maintain confidentiality and promptly report any needs or concerns to the RPN on shift and the Care & Operations Manager (CRS), as applicable, ensuring appropriate communication and follow-up.

- Physically fit to perform duties

- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Vulnerable Sector Police Check
