The NSFA tackles policy issues that impactthe competitive and sustainable nature of the industry and takes an active role in supporting registered farms through the delivery of programs and services. The NSFA supports farms by providing tools, resources, best practices,and training while advocating on their behalf.

The NSFA is seeking a Public Trust Coordinator (PTC) to support the coordination of public-facing initiatives of the organization, while also providing resources to support the farm community in engaging with the public. The PTC must be devoted to the agriculture industry and have a keen understanding of the challenges faced by the industry and the best practices implemented on-farm, with a passion for storytelling. The PTC will support a connected and trusted food system in Nova Scotia by cultivating relationships that build trust in food and farming.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Manage and coordinate communication platforms including social media and website
- Manage and coordinate public trust communication campaigns (e.g.Your Farmers, Your Nova Scotia)
- Develop promotional and educational resources and content for presentations, blogs, articles, social media, website, etc.
- Manage and coordinate the development, deliveryand evaluation of events to support engagement and connections between farmers and the public (e.g.Open Farm Day, Meet Your Farmer, Let’sGet Cooking)
- Manage and coordinate the NSFA’s public-facingmaterials such as tradeshow booths and activity stations and represent NSFA and its members at public outreach events
- Coordinate and support development of metrics to evaluate public sentiment toward the agriculture and food system in Nova Scotia through surveys and focus groups
- Support the organization in promoting its activities and members’ stories to the public through storytellingin collaboration with the NSFA Team
- Coordinate and support the development of key messaging to support communications
- Manage and coordinate the development, delivery, and evaluation of events, tools,and resources to support farmers and the food system in fostering relationships with the public
- Liaise with stakeholders such as commodity groups, CCFI, Dalhousie University and the government to support collaboration and coordination of activities
- Manage project budgets and expenditures
- Coordinate and support the development of reports for funders, Team Lead and the Executive Director

**Skills & Qualifications**
- Post-secondary education in public relations, communication, marketing, agriculture or equivalent
- 1-3 years of experiencein communication, public relationsor marketing role
- Familiar with and have a genuine interest in agriculture and food production
- Strong graphic designand writing skills
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and public speaking skills
- Effective problem-solving and leadership skills
- Effective time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
- A Nova Scotia driver’s license and access to a vehicle are required

**Compensation**
- Starting annual salary between $52,000 - $57,000
- 3 weeks of vacation annually
