**Who are we looking for?**

The Accounting Technician is a self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized administrative individual who is responsible for the complete and accurate processing of payroll and the maintenance of employee & client payroll files and records.

This is a great opportunity for a capable individual to support a growing company’s operations, grow with the company and be exposed to various areas of accounting, finance, and payroll.

**What you will be doing**:
Completion of full cycle bookkeeping for clients, including:

- Prepare and maintain payroll and related government remittances/filings.
- Record payroll transactions in clients bookkeeping records.
- Recording expenses including those paid personally.
- Prepare Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) returns.
- Reconcile bank/cc/investment activity.
- Reconcile tax accounts (RC/RP/RT).
- Draft financial statements.

Tax preparation and support:

- Preparation of T4 and T5 Slips based on client’s annual tax plans.
- Preparation of T1 returns based on client’s individual tax plans.
- Preparation of T3 returns.
- Preparation of T2 returns based on client’s annual tax plans.
- Prepare and file HST returns (quarterly and annually).

Client relations:

- Supporting clients with CRA communications and document submissions.
- Filing of client’s tax documents in our electronic database.
- Assistance with documentation related to financial planning.

Ability to pioneer new processes and leverage technology to create a unique client experience.

**What you will bring along**:

- College/University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Two to three years accounting/finance/bookkeeping experience preferred is mandatory.
- Robust working knowledge of CaseWare, Profile, QuickBooks Desktop and Online, and ADP or comparable payroll software are mandatory.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Gmail, and Google suite apps.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-orientation with an ability to communicate and identify problems.
- Adapt to change quickly and adjust work accordingly in a positive manner.
- Organized with good time management skills (ability to work under pressure).
- Client relationship building and communication abilities.

**We take care of our people**:
We offer a competitive salary and benefits package combined with a flexible schedule and work environment. Total compensation will be between $70,000 - $75,000 per annum based on experience.

Full time hours: 40 per week (80% in office)
- Paid 3 weeks’ vacation.
