We have an opportunity for a National Biomarker Medical Science Liaisons (MSL) to join our Medical Affairs Oncology team. In this exciting role, you will develop and nurture relationships, as well as advance our scientific credibility with established and emerging external experts (EEs) in the area of Oncology and clinical biomarkers. This national position is based in Toronto or Montreal and will report to the Medical Manager, Solid Tumours.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop and maintain key scientific knowledge for credible dissemination of biomarker information to external experts and healthcare professionals.
- Provide scientific support and maintain relationships with external biomarker experts and key academic centers.
- Deliver credible scientific presentations on biomarker-related topics to healthcare professionals individually or in groups.
- Attend scientific meetings/conferences and develop summaries of key data presented.
- Collect and integrate diagnostic testing data from key centers/laboratories and share with internal stakeholders to support the development of strategic biomarker and medical plans.
- Plan, organize, and execute local, provincial, and national field activities with scientific content on biomarkers.
- Collaborate effectively with members of diagnostic test manufacturers to support relevant biomarker trainings for external stakeholders.
- Seek input from external experts on local testing practices and emerging diagnostic technologies.
- Ensure compliance with AbbVie Policies and Standards

**Qualifications** Education/Experience Required**:

- Doctorate, PharmD or MD is preferred. MSc degree in scientific related discipline and demonstrated medical affairs experience will also be considered.
- Previous experience in diagnostic areas or as an MSL is preferred (minimum of two years)
- Relevant Oncology/solid tumors and biomarker background is considered an asset.
- Solid understanding of the Canadian biomarker testing landscape.
- Knowledge of scientific methods applied to clinical research, biomarker testing implementation/validation, and the current legislative/regulatory controls.
- Keen interest in developing and maintaining expert knowledge for assigned therapeutic area/product and medical research in general.

**Essential Skills & Abilities**:

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Must be at ease with technology (the use of various tools/systems to perform day-to-day tasks).
- Travel required about 60% of the time.
- Valid driver’s license and passport.

**Key in-Field Team (IFT) Competencies**:

- Ability to understand the unmet needs of key stakeholders, make decisions that have an impact and execute the integration and assimilation of that information into the IFTs’ engagement approach.
- Ability to coordinate scientific/medical engagement efforts across stakeholders within a single account in order to develop interaction plans that are inline with the Scientific Interaction Plan (SIP) to achieve medical objectives.
- Effectively communicate, collaborate and incorporate the views of other in-field team members to optimize business objectives.
