**PROGRAM NATURE AND SCOPE**:
The Research Assistant will work under the supervision of the Supervisor, Program Design and will support all research-related, activities, writing of funding proposals and provide assistance in regard to data management including (but not limited to):
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Support with remote data gathering activities using e-surveys, polls, telephone interviews, and virtual focus groups.
- Engage in data compilation activities including but not limited to: tabulating and entering data, preparing data tables, cleansing datasets and setting up spreadsheets;
- Engage in numeric and textual data analysis activities including (but not limited to) cross tabulations, descriptive data mining, frequency tables, measures of central tendency and dispersion, cluster analysis, time series analysis, content analysis, thematic coding, framework analysis, time-ordered matrices.
- Support the Labour Market Information Analyst’s research through literature review along with connecting with community stakeholders online and by telephone.
- Aid in the development and implementation of impactful research projects (e.g. needs assessments of core client groups, workforce integration strategy papers, Focus area best practices white papers, shared solutions podcasts/videos, shared challenges statement);
- Present data, when requested, in a manner that will be understood by co-workers and stakeholders.
- Support SfC project activities as required.
- Perform other administrative duties as required.
- Scanning and updating grants pipeline for funding opportunities as required.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**:

- Strong verbal & written communication skills in English language (French and another language is an asset);
- Strong customer service skills.
- Demonstrated time management & organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently to achieve day-to-day results in a diverse and dynamic team environment.
- Evidence of research, analytical and report writing skills, preferably related to labour market information is required.
- Research experience in labour market or workforce development planning is required.
- Knowledge and experience performing analysis of multiple data sets, data collection, statistical analysis, quantitative and qualitative research, and dissemination of results is required.
- Knowledge of local, provincial, and federal labour market sources (i.e. Statistics Canada, Labour Force
