The Care Attendant provides personal care and other services to our residents in a safe efficient manner, according to the policies and procedures of the retirement residence.
**The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to**:
- Assists and attends to residents’ special needs as required;
- Observe, report, record resident condition and follow plan of care as directed by Registered staff.
- Participate and contribute in all aspects of quality, risk, record and infection control measures.
- Communicate appropriately with residents, their families, visitors and staff.
- Provide support in conducting clerical work, housekeeping duties and well as assist in caring out resident programs
- Maintains work and storage areas in a clean, safe and sanitary manner;
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Previous work experience in retirement home will be considered an asset;
- Post secondary education in related care fields and a Safety Care Certification will be considered an asset
- Ability to read and communicate effectively;
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions;
- Demonstrated empathy and understanding of the needs of seniors;
- Effective interpersonal relationship and conflict resolution skills;
- Ability to organize work and work under strict time constraints;
- Must have a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness;
Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the hiring process as required under the Retirement Residence Employment Accommodation policy.
**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent, Casual
**Salary**: $17.50 per hour

- 8 hour shift
- Evening shift
- Weekend availability
Supplemental pay types:

All Ressam Garden Memory Care Community staff must be fully vaccinated.
