AltaGas - Advisor, Midstream Operational Control

The Advisor, Midstream Operational Control will provide program level support for the Midstream Operations Management System (OMS) 'Operational Control' Element, 'Training & Competency' Element, and 'Rail Operations' Program. This role will support the development, implementation, standardization, and compliance assurance for the complete Midstream OMS, with respect to all programs and elements. This involves developing, reviewing, and implementing governance directives, including operational guides, procedures, practices, and training requirements. This also involves assessing the level of compliance to OMS governance directives within all facilities of Midstream Operations and supporting the resolution of non-compliance issues and the continual improvement of operational effectiveness.

You Will:

- Be responsible for continual OMS compliance assessments (both formal and informal) at all Midstream facilities and working with the facility teams to resolve identified areas of improvement.
- Assist with OMS gap assessments for newly acquired assets and developing and supporting gap closure plans and improvement opportunities.
- Support the standardization and implementation of OMS programs and elements across Midstream facilities, with specific focus on the Operational Control Element, Training and Competency Element, and Rail Operations Program.
- Assist with developing, implementing, and assessing standardized operational governance directives to all facilities.
- Assist with the formal Operational Control process of reviewing relevant OMS governance directives prior to being published and implemented at facilities. This is to help ensure the document and implementation are meaningful, effective, and successful.
- Assist OMS program and element owners with development of training for program and element directive rollouts.
- Assist with development and management of the unified schedule for implementation of initiatives at all Midstream facilities.
- Support the development and sustainment of the Midstream Operations master training and competency requirements for all positions.
- Support the development, review, endorsement, and sustainment of the site-specific training matrices at all facilities.
- Support the development and sustainment of a standardized competency management framework and system. The main purposes of the competency management system are to ensure facility personnel are competent in their existing position, ensure they have clearly identified progression plans, and ensure this information is properly documented.

You Have:

- 5+ Years Experience in the oil and gas industry, with preference in gas processing and rail terminal operations
- Gas/LPG plant-specific experience is preferred, but other related experience will be considered
- Knowledge of Operation Management Systems
- Developed and executed audits/assessments, preparing formal reports and executing improvement/action plans
- Proficient with work management systems, such as Maximo
- Proficient in the development and review of governance documents (processes, practices, procedures, guides)
- Ability to work collaboratively and as part of a team
- Ability to work well with multiple operational teams, as well as independently and with mínimal direction
