GlassHouse Botanics Inc, a licensed Cannabis producer, is looking to hire an Integrated Pest Management/Irrigation Technician to work on our IPM/IRR Team. Reporting to the IPM/IRR Assistant Team Lead and IPM/IRR Team Lead, the IPM/IRR Technician will support with all aspects of the pest management, irrigation and fertigation protocols.

The IPM/IRR will monitor the plants for disease or harmful pests and maintain plant nutrition through all fertigation requirements and promote healthy plant growth and disease control by implementing an appropriate Pest Management schedule catered to specific needs of different cultivars and growth stage.

This role will also help monitor environmental conditions in grow rooms to promote optimal growth.

**Wage and Benefits**: $18.00 to start, benefits after three months. Wage increases will be considered on a yearly basis.

**Duties include but are not limited to**:

- Daily/weekly inspections of crops and environmental conditions using Integrated Pest Management (IPM) techniques.
- Provide assistance to all team members as needed.
- Monitor pest ecosystems to evaluate the presence of pest species, natural pest predators, and environmental factors that may contribute to pest problems.
- Ensure that biological control inventory is dispersed on time and in a manner that is productive.
- Report any deviations from established procedures to IPM/IRR Assistant Team Lead and IPM/IRR Team Lead.
- Complete electrical conductivity (EC) and pH measurements, soil readings and leaf samples to ensure fertigation is tailored to plant needs.
- Work with chemicals such as fertilizers, pesticides (spraying), and sanitizers while following all safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Perform regular calibration and verification of nutrient testing instruments and the irrigation system.
- Monitor and refill stock tanks when needed, ensuring proper sanitation.
- Document all findings; complete inspection reports and provide reports to IPM Team Lead.
- Clean and sanitize work area and equipment as required.
- Follow the Cannabis Act, Cannabis Regulations, and any new revisions set by PMRA.
- Comply with company procedures, policies, regulatory requirements, and guidelines of current and future market.
- Maintain documentation of completed task.
- Understanding of applicable provincial laws and regulations set by PMRA as they pertain to cannabis

- Ability to work both in a team and independently
- Capable of frequent and repetitive hand movements
- Ability to sit, kneel, bend and stand for a long time, and frequently walk during the scheduled shift
- Must be able to do repetitive lifting of up 50 lbs, unassisted.
- Ability to accurately follow multi-layered instructions
- Position requires holding/being able to obtain certification to handle pesticides in Ontario.

**Conditions of employment**: Must be 18+ with the ability to pass a criminal background check.

**Our Environment**: Plants like heat and humidity. To be successful in this position you need to be comfortable working in an enclosed environment with high heat and humidity, and to comfortable wearing protective clothing, hair covering and other Personal Protective Equipment.
