Introduction The Student Support Worker primarily works with African Nova Scotian students to support a positive school experience, and improve academic success and self-esteem. The Student Support Worker works in a collaborative environment with education stakeholders and develops effective communication links between African Nova Scotian learners, their families, the Community and the school. The Student Support Worker acts as a positive role model and fosters a positive environment of good will, respect and dignity with African Nova Scotian students.
Minimum Requirements - Post-secondary education in Human Services, Social Services or related field.
- An equivalent combination of education/experience may be considered in lieu of a diploma/degree program.
- Experience working with youth of African Nova Scotian decent.
- Being a person of African Nova Scotian descent.
- A valid Nova Scotia's driver's license and or access to an insured vehicle.
