**JOB PROFILE**

The Coordinator, Strategy and Advocacy, supports CAGBC’s advocacy initiatives and strategic efforts by providing research, stakeholder engagement, and logístical assistance. Reporting to the Director, Strategy and Advocacy, this role plays a key part in advancing the organization’s policy objectives, cooperating with external stakeholders, and ensuring the smooth delivery of advocacy activities. This position involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to support the development and execution of impactful corporate and advocacy strategies.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Advocacy and Policy Monitoring**
- Monitor and analyze policy developments, legislative changes, and regulatory trends related to the green building sector.
- Assist in preparing policy briefs, position papers, and advocacy materials to communicate organizational priorities to external stakeholders
- Track and report on the impact of public policies on organizational goals, providing actionable insights in support of CAGBC’s strategic priorities

**Stakeholder engagement**
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including public servants, parliamentary offices, industry members, and partners.
- Coordinate meetings, events, and communications with external stakeholders to support advocacy activities and policy discussions.
- Prepare materials and presentations for stakeholder engagements, ensuring consistency to support the achievement of CAGBC strategic and public policy interests.

**Strategy development**
- Assist in the development and execution of corporate strategies that align with the organization’s overarching goals.

**SKILLS**
- Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to conduct thorough research, analyse complex policy and legislative issues, and synthesize findings into actionable insights.
- Superior communication and writing such as preparing clear, concise, and compelling policy briefs, reports, and presentations for diverse audience.
- Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task and manage numerous projects concurrently with conflicting priorities while ensuring a high quality of execution.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise diplomacy and build rapport as well as maintain effective relationships with employees, government and industry personnel, and other stakeholders.
- Problem-solving and adaptability with the capacity to identify challenges, propose solutions, and adjust strategies in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in both French and English, with the ability to prepare materials and engage stakeholders in both languages.

- Able to work with a diverse group of stakeholders, anticipate needs and issues in advance, and be comfortable with working through contentious matters when necessary.

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- Post-secondary degree in public policy, government affairs, political science, or related.
- Two to four years of experience in some combination of advocacy, public policy and project management
