Dogsled Tour Guide

Do you love dogs? Are you physically fit and want a cool winter job? We are looking for strong, active team members who live in the Canmore area, have a vehicle to get to work daily and can commit to the end of April, 2025.

We have contract positions for the winter where you can work outside with 180 huskies and run dogsled tours in the Canadian Rockies

Your own vehicle is preferred, and experience working with animals or guiding an asset. Tour duties include guiding a team of 5-7 huskies with 2-3 guests on the mountain trails, up to 4 x two hour tours per day. Kennel work is required before and after the tours: cleaning, feeding, watering, checking straw, raking gravel, shoveling snow, etc. Guides all take turns doing trail cleaning and grooming as well. Gratuities are not pooled. Wage is $17.50 per hour ($16 per hour base rate, plus $1.50 per hour contract completion bonus); there is a lieu time agreement for steady pay throughout the winter, with time to enjoy other winter activities.

Applicants must be physically fit, able to lift heavy objects, and have no current injuries or health issues. This is a no-smoking position. Staff accommodation is not provided.

Position can turn into summer kennel help for year-round work if desired.

With relevant skills in guiding, you will educate guests about the techniques of dogsledding, and the background of the dogs teams, creating memorable experiences. Pay: $16.00-$18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 44 per week
