Wood Shop Veneering Assistant

Join our team as a **Veneering Assistant** and play a key role in creating high-quality veneer products.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist the Team Head of Veneering by receiving and following instructions for new projects.
- Ensure proper functionality of veneering machinery.
- Participate in selecting and deciding on veneer materials, including type and color (as required).
- Operate machinery by feeding materials and supervising the cutting process.
- Inspect and fix stitching issues, such as overlaps or open areas, by adjusting glue or pressure.
- Refill glue in the machine daily and notify the supervisor of any supply shortages (e.g., glue, brown tape).
- Support the annual inventory process.
- Conserve resources by using equipment and materials efficiently to achieve job goals.

**Health and Safety Responsibilities**
- Adhere to workplace health and safety policies and legal requirements.
- Wear and use required protective equipment at all times.
- Work in a safe manner to prevent harm to yourself or others.
- Report any hazards to your supervisor promptly.

**Other Responsibilities**
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment by following procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Take on additional tasks as assigned by the Team Head of Veneering to support project completion.

**Work Schedule**
- Monday - Thursday 6:00am - 3:30pm, Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm; 0.5-hour unpaid meal break every day, 2 paid 15-min breaks.
- Overtime during weekends available when needed.

**Qualifications and Skills**
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Basic understanding of machinery operation and maintenance.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
