We are looking to hire an operator of a hydrometallurgical / pyrometallurgical pilot plant in order to be part of the innovation engine of our company. We are focused on the emergence of novel integrated technologies for metal ion extraction, purification, and separation, which is in agreement with the demands for sustainable development. Geomega, in collaboration with industrial partners, evaluates the technical feasibility and economic and environmental impacts of new process approaches for the recovery of target metals (critical, strategic, base, and precious) from different sources. This objective constitutes a real scientific and technical challenge due to complex matrices with different levels of metal concentrations.

**Responsibilities/Job Description**

This job description applies to industrial processes technologies operators and specialists with a technical degree in this field. Experience in the technical areas of operating industrial processes in **extractive metallurgy, hydrometallurgy, and related areas is a plus**. The work will involves operating pilot plant equipment developed and assembled by the R&D team. This position will include operating a wide variety of industrial equipment commonly found in metals extraction operations. The operator will be required to follow the operating procedures, participate in data collection and perform the required testwork systematically using the pilot scale equipment in collaboration with researchers and engineers working on the project.

The position responsibility includes:

- Use an applied approach in performing moderate technological functions within the pilot plant operations in autonomous way
- Test, install and operate equipment and setup systems
- Conduct experimental testing in pilot scale by following provided procedures
- Collect data during the pilot plant operation
- Receive, inspect, sort and label client samples
- Sort, crush, pulverize, split, and screen samples
- Prepare, label, and send sample product to other laboratories or to the clients
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment or components
- Calibrate and set up equipment when required
- Maintain a clean working environment
- Follow all company Health, Safety and Environmental policies
- Follow all Quality system protocols and report any discrepancies to the supervisor

**Qualifications**
- A technical diploma in Industrial Process Technologies (DEC Technique de procédés industriels / chimiques) is required
- A minimum of 1 - 3 years of experience in an industrial setting is required
- Hands-on mechanical skills are an asset
- Plant maintenance and processing experience is an asset
- Good hand/eye coordination when handling samples and various equipment
- Incumbents must be proficient in using various types of computer software (Word, Excel. PowerPoint & Outlook)
- Proven effective time management skills and a strong attention to detail
