**The Role**

You are an experienced **Product Manager **passionate about sustainability and climate change. You will take ownership of our proprietary energy management software and establish a product discipline in collaboration with business stakeholders, the Technology teams, and reports to our CTO.

In the early days you will be focused on our proprietary energy management offerings. Specifically, you will define and prioritize product requirements while establishing processes and best practices that drive strong product management, collaboration with stakeholders, and transparency across all areas of the company. You will also work with engineering and operations teams, becoming exposed to go-to-market strategies to develop your understanding of the product offering, positioning, key benefits, and target customer(s).

**Roles & Responsibilities**
- Serve as the voice of the customer internally, with stakeholders of the product - including customers and prospects, our Finance and Commodities teams, and technology team stakeholders. At times you may lead workshops with clients to drive engagement or develop product strategies.
- Gain a deep understanding of ideal buyers, select market segments, competitors, trade-offs and isolate audiences to engage using data-driven insights (not opinions or anecdotes).
- Identify customer challenges by working closely with our clients, partners and internal teams to develop our product while leveraging metrics to manage risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs of delivery.
- Establish and drive the product development life cycle, including defining objectives, requirements development, product backlog management and prioritization, and managing a dynamic product roadmap that is responsive to the market opportunities and disciplined in achieving our vision.
- Work collaboratively with user experience, architecture, engineering, data, and technology teams in the execution of product delivery from building, testing and validating features.
- Define and report on KPIs, execution progress, resource needs, obstacles and risks to the project manager for recommendations and approvals.
- Develop high-quality, clear, concise documentation of processes, requirements, release notes, product training, user support, and sales support materials.
- Demonstrate customer empathy, product expertise and competitive awareness throughout the team while ensuring alignment to objectives. Seek feedback to improve processes, product quality and customer experience.
- Manage and grow new and existing product partnerships, including IBM Envizi to drive the customer value chain.

**Key Skills & Competencies**
- 8-10 years of progressive experience in product management in building technology-based B2B and SaaS products, preferably in the energy sector
- Ability to operate effectively in a small/medium company - comfortable getting “hands on” and also embracing being entrepreneurial
- Education and training with common Product Management methodologies and frameworks, including Pragmatic Framework, Lean, Scaled Agile and/or Scrum
- Proven strategic and tactical abilities and demonstrated command of business acumen. Demonstrated excellence in delivery execution of complex, technology-based products and leading with influence in a cross-functional teams environment.
- Excellent technical writing, verbal presentation and written communication skills.
- Ability to deliver communications that are clear, concise, effective and that are at a level appropriate to your audience; able to engage executives, customers and developers in strategic conversations.
- Strong critical thinking balanced with creativity, innovative, and data-driven analytical mindset to make great product decisions that creates value for customers / users.
- Experience with A/B testing and understanding of related concepts such as sample size and statistical significance.
- Ability to manage executive & peer stakeholders.
- Experienced with mapping user journeys, setting objectives and key results.
- Understanding of pricing & marketing strategies, knowledge of industry trends & competitive landscape.
