**Job Summary**
- The Dalhousie School of Social Work Community Clinic is an inter-professional social justice-oriented service located on Fenwick Street in Halifax. It is both a case management platform for marginalized populations and a student practice learning environment for the faculty of Health and beyond. Reporting to the Clinic Coordinators and supported by the Co-Directors, the Social Worker, Community Mental Health is responsible for providing individual and group interventions with a focus on mental health and wellness. They also work as a member of the team that provides holistic and comprehensive case management services to all clients.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide a range of mental health interventions including, but not limited to, evidenced based therapeutic modalities such as CBT, ACT, Solution focused approaches, trauma intervention and/or narrative therapy. The interventions must be aligned with a social justice and anti-oppressive framework for practice and embody social work values and knowledge.
- Conduct intake assessment, goal setting, case plan development, case conferencing, brokering, system navigation, outreach, advocacy, crisis intervention, and referrals to outside agencies. Follow-up with clients and agencies as appropriate to document outcome of referrals.
- Provide community-based services using a harm-reduction and low-barriers approach to social work practice.
- Participate in community development projects through the clinic such as: community linkages, professional presentations, program development, budgeting, and grant/fund seeking.
- Participate in the supervision and evaluation of student placements, supporting the coordination and scheduling of collaborative case studies among the various student groups and preceptors.
- Liaise with the Department of Health and Wellness to contribute to a collaborative relationship and multi-faceted approach to providing community based, low barrier services and supports in the community for individuals living with mental health challenges.

**Note**
- Due to operational requirements, the successful applicant is required to work in-person on campus.

**Required Qualifications**
- Master’s level training in Social Work from a school accredited by the Canadian Association of Social Work Education (CASWE), Registered Social Worker (RSW) licensure from Nova Scotia College of Social Workers (NSCSW), and experience in a clinical setting delivering individual and group therapy and wellness plans.
- Knowledge of the organizational structures, policies, and procedures of the social service and health delivery systems and community organizations in Canada.
- Ability to work with people delivering human services at all organizational levels from direct service to senior administration in government, non-government, and community-based organizations, which reflect the diversity of Canadian society.
- Understanding of the broad spectrum of social work practice from individual and community practice, policy, social action, and research.
- Excellent communication skills, organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
