**Duties**:Under the general supervision of the Manager of Libraries and Heritage Resources and the day-to-day direction of the Co-ordinator of Public Services.
- Seek opportunities to promote accessible library services (e.g., with the use of publicity, through presentations, membership on appropriate committees, library tours, and participation in community events).
- Coordinate the selection and delivery of library materials for homebound clients.
- Plan and execute programs for older adults and individuals with special needs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with citizens with disabilities to improve accessibility of library facilities and services.
- Assess patron eligibility for accessibility services and assist patrons in using the library’s adaptive and assistive technologies.
- Promote volunteer opportunities and recruit volunteers for accessibility services. Lead, train and schedule the work of volunteers and oversee the activities performed by volunteers and/or students, as applicable.
- Recommend improvements regarding the provision of accessibility services and implement when approved.
- Provide in-depth information, reader’s advisory, and reference services to the public.
- Maintain client and volunteer files.
- Instruct the public and staff in the use of the catalogue and other digital resources.
- Respond to complaints and problems in a prompt and professional manner.
- Participate in the evaluation, building and maintenance of collections through recommendations to appropriate staff.
- Maintain statistics on program usage, deliveries, and volunteer/student hours.
- Maximize the appeal of the collection through displays and finding aids.
- Secure premises and set security system alarm.
- Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of CGS’s Safety Manual and the applicable Provincial Legislation listed therein.
- Perform other related duties as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Successful completion of a Community College Library Technician’s Diploma from a recognized Community College with Canadian accreditation.
- Additional training in a field related to accessibility, diversity, or inclusion would be an asset.
- Over one (1) year up to and including two and one-half (2½) years of related experience.
- Knowledge of library services and operations.
- Ability to work with a diverse group of people and interact pleasantly and courteously with the public, community partners, and staff.
- Ability to demonstrate public speaking skills and engaging presentation styles.
- Ability to demonstrate organizational skills and attention to detailed work.
- Ability to demonstrate accurate keyboarding skills at a moderate rate of speed.
- Excellent use of English, verbally and in writing.
- French verbal skills and written skills an asset.
- Satisfactory health, attendance, and former employment history.
- Provide, at own cost, a current Criminal Record Check.
- Physical capability to operate a vehicle safely, possession of a valid driver’s licence and an acceptable driving record, will be considered an asset.
