Winnipeg, Canada Fearless R2W Inc Full time

**RESEARCH ADVOCATE**

**Employer: Fearless R2W Inc**

**About the Employer**:
Fearless R2W Inc. became a nonprofit organization in December of 2020. Prior to that, we were a grassroots collective of volunteers started in 2014, as a community resource to educate and advocate for families and youth involved in the Child & Family Services (CFS) system.

R2W is the postal code in Winnipeg with the greatest number of children (almost all Indigenous) who are CFS-involved. We provide opportunities for community to learn about child welfare in Manitoba, build community and provide advocacy when possible. We continue to provide the services we have since our beginning:

- Circles of Support - our monthly gathering of food, mentorship and education about the CFS system and self-advocacy.
- We train volunteers to learn about the system and accompany or support families in their encounters with CFS.
- Participate in community events.
- We partner with other organizations to deliver the Community Safety Host pilot project which was a successful test for a training program and work practicum for a new occupation called Community Safety Host. It is a hybrid of a security guard and community helper with Indigenous based knowledge.
