**About the opportunity**:
The National Fleet Specialist is responsible for overseeing the company’s national vehicle fleet and ensuring it is in good condition - Trailer and Reefers. He or she ensures the best cost of ownership for the fleet, in strict compliance with federal and provincial health & safety rules and Compliance Regulations. In collaboration with the operational transport teams and purchasing departments, the National Fleet Specialist will be required to define the equipment renewal and investment plan.

**The attributes we are looking for**:

- Ensure the logistics division’s national fleet is consistent with government and corporate requirements.
- Maintain the safety, security and environmental compliance of equipment.
- Ensure the fleet is in good condition, both structurally and in term of appearance, to properly reflect the corporate image.
- Track and explain fleet operating and maintenance costs in each province. Work with operational and management control teams to implement ambitious continuous improvement plans.
- Monitor work performed and ensure adherence to the supplier invoicing process.
- Check major work in collaboration with operational managers.
- Propose an equipment renewal plan for investment budget preparation.
- Participate in the tendering and selection process for equipment and maintenance suppliers in conjunction with central purchasing.
- Standardize national best practices for equipment management, use and maintenance as well as for cost tracking.
- Prepare reports and statistics to measure fleet performance and analyze budget variances.
- Act as main contact vis-à-vis our parent company’s central services for all matters relating to Lactalis Canada’s fleet.

**What you will bring**:

- University degree or equivalent combination of academic and practical experience.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in transport and fleet management.
- Experience in heavy vehicle mechanics.
- Strong communication, organizational and negotiation skills.
- Innovative outlook and ability to present continuous improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of heavy vehicle mechanics.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Teamwork.
- Change management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and SAP.
- Bilingualism (French and English) an asset.
- Ability to travel nationally.
