Position: Child & Youth Coordinator (Maternity Leave Coverage)

Type of Employment: Full Time (37.5 hours per week)

Responsible to: FLE Program Manager

**Qualifications Required**:

- Human Services degree or diploma
- Knowledge of childhood development and family dynamics
- Direct experience working with families from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
- Strong interpersonal skills with good oral and written communication. A second language is an asset
- Experience in program development and group facilitation
- Good decision making and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in the use of computers including ability to document in a data base and with Microsoft Office - Strong organizational skills to meet deadlines
- The ability to work in a team environment with children, youth, families and other professionals
- Current Police Information Check, Child Intervention Record Check and First Aid Certificate
- Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle

**Specific Duties**:

- 1. Work with the program team in the research, development and implementation of programs that reflect the needs and interests of children (6-15 years).
- 2. Plan, organize, and facilitate programs for children 6-15 years in the area of emotion regulation and appropriate child development for this age group.
- 3. Assesses suitability of children and youth to attend programs
- 4. Identify service gaps and develop programs to meet the need.
- 5. Develop a logic model and evaluation for program participants.
- 6. Collaborate with agency team members and community partners to provide optimal programs and services to children and youth.
- 7. Work with elementary schools to offer emotion regulation programs to children in grades 1-9.
- 8. Interacts with children, parents and families in accordance with the organizations policies and procedures.
- 9. Ensure that the health, safety, and well-being of all program participants are adhered to at all times.
- 10. Refers children and families to other social service programs when needed
- 11. Deals positively with conflict situations that arise.
- 12. Maintain records of children attending programs.
- 13. Implement evaluation tools to measure if program outcomes have been met.
- 14. Maintain program statistics for purposes of reporting to funders, evaluation and program development
- 15. Identifying new and maintaining current partnerships and relationships with community organizations and School Boards to enhance service delivery
- 16. Ensure all materials and supplies are purchased for the programs.
- 17. Confer with the Program Manager on a regular basis.

**General Duties**
- 1. Represent St Albert FRC and its partners in a professional manner at all times.
- 2. Ensure all programs operate in compliance with Alberta Licensing Standards and Best Practices.
- 3. In conjunction with the program team, plan and implement Special Events.
- 4. Actively participate in community-based networks, attend meetings and report back to the team.
- 5. Assist with St Albert FRC’s annual events and fundraisers, including preparation and the day of the event.
- 6. Assist in daily housekeeping and administrative duties associated with the upkeep of St Albert FRC.
- 7. Adhere to the organizations’ confidentiality policy and PIPA at all times.

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
