**REPORTING TO**:Director of Catering and Events
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Lead all event staff in a productive and efficient manner, ensuring the Club’s standards are maintained at all times during special event operations
- Ensure proper set up of event halls are completed in a timely manner and adhere to provided floor plans and set up details in Banquet Event Orders
- Ensure that table settings are in accordance with Hospitality guidelines and that health and safety guidelines have been observed
- Monitoring and control of banquet china, cutlery, glassware, linen and equipment
- Ensure that next day or next event set up is completed in full before signing out staff
- Meet with the event convenor and review agenda for accuracy and any last minute changes. Communicate any changes to appropriate personnel
- Maintain close contact with event convenor throughout operations to ensure that food, beverage and service has exceeded expectations
- Liaise with kitchen staff to ensure they are aware of event requirements such as, timing, buffet or station set ups, and special meal requests.
- Conduct a pre-shift meeting with all scheduled staff go over details of the event, assign duties and table assignments, full event menu and performance expectations
- Oversee the event by observing and maintaining service levels
- Respond to and resolve any guest service issues promptly
- Ensure proper accounting procedures are adhered to at all times, by balancing all alcohol inventory at the end of each event, and ensuring all billable items are uploaded
- Ensure cleanliness of the banquet rooms
- Maintain a professional demeanor at all times
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum of 6 years experience in the Hospitality field (Catering, Banquet setting) with minimum of Minimum 3 years experience as an Assistant Banquet Manager/Supervisor
- Degree or Diploma in Hotel Management or equivalent
- French Service Experience
- Computer proficient
- Smart Serve Certification
- Food Handlers Certification a strong asset
- Extensive knowledge of food, beverage, wine and industry trends
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Customer service and detailed oriented
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
- Collaborative, team player
- Good judgment, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
- Ability to interact with all levels, both inside and outside the organization
- Positive, professional and enthusiastic demeanour
- Passion for food and customer service
- Jonas and Caterease Experience an Asset
- Flexibility in schedule
**Skills**:
This job requires ability to perform the following:
- Handling, carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds (tables, chairs, trays, etc.)
- Remain stationary for extended periods of time
- Moving about the function areas.

Part-time hours: 20-44 per week
**Salary**: $25.00-$27.00 per hour
