The People Operations Generalist will play an integral role in delivering relevant and meaningful HR Generalist and Payroll support to Tegus employees and leadership in our Vancouver office and across the global organization. This role will own daily HR procedures and support payroll procedures, support the execution of a variety of HR & payroll initiatives, and drive continuous process improvement & operational efficiency. This role will help to ensure our People Operations department can execute the strategies needed to grow and strengthen the organization.

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage Canada employee lifecycle and experience from onboarding through offboarding, independently covering other global Tegus locations as needed; support with large scale initiatives affecting the employee experience, such as office moves, as needed
- Support processing of semi-monthly Canadian payroll for Canada employees, including processing bonuses and commissions, tax adjustments, benefit contributions, HRIS workflow approvals, and any other pay-related changes or adjustments
- Serve as primary point of contact for all Canada employees for questions regarding onboarding, offboarding, payroll, taxes, benefits, HRIS, training, mobility, leaves of absence, and any other related People Operations topics, supporting other global Tegus locations as needed
- Support the design & implementation of policies, SOPs, and audits to ensure all individuals and processes are constantly in compliance with applicable regulations; leverage expertise with Canada employment laws to make recommendations to the People team on HR operations & policy matters
- Manage all necessary tasks related to administering Canada benefits offerings, collaborating with the Total Rewards Manager as needed; partner with external providers to reconcile benefit contributions and premiums
- Build custom reports for leadership related to payroll expenses, commissions, headcount, and other business needs; regularly monitor data cleanliness in HRIS platform, flagging and correcting system issues in real time to ensure consistently clean data
- Manage and maintain employee records/personnel files from onboarding to termination, processing actions in the HRIS platform and overseeing the employee change process from approvals to data entry; complete regular data quality reviews and audits to help drive process improvements

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management (or related field), HR and Payroll certifications a plus
- 3+ years experience in an HR Generalist role in a high-growth, multinational environment; 1+ year demonstrated HRIS experience required (UKG Pro experience is a plus)
- 2+ years experience managing Canada payroll; professional certification in Payroll and strong understanding of payroll regulations and taxes (UKG Pro experience a plus)
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience navigating Canadian employment law, including experience working with Canada-based outside counsel on various employment-related topics
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including advanced formulas and pivot tables
- High emotional and social intelligence with experience fostering positive, strong relationships with diverse groups of people; cognizance of how to account for diversity, equity, and inclusion when making People Operations and Payroll recommendations
