**Duties**
- Facilitating on-site academic upgrading, personal development and communications
- Facilitate groups using an organized plan of lectures, demonstrations, discussion groups, and field assignments.
- Supporting participants (both during and outside of class time) with career guidance, providing necessary resources to manage daily challenges; assessment of, and advocacy for participants
- Develop curriculum and prepare teaching materials and outlines/calendars for lectures with the goal of focusing on encouraging healthy and active living.
- Meet outlined goals and objectives for each group.
- Work closely with the Career Counsellors to provide participants feedback on participation and progress on an ongoing basis.
- Participate in extended learning outside our organization with our participants, including attending City of Winnipeg recreational facilities, community organizations, public venues and government establishments.

**Qualifications**
- Degree in Social Services or a suitable combination of education and experience
- Experience and proficiency in planning, implementing and facilitating workshops related to personal development and career planning
- Communicate clearly and effectively, using cross-cultural sensitivity, in a number of settings with people exhibiting a wide range of behaviours
- Work effectively with all individuals, including those from diverse backgrounds, in a fair, objective and reasonable manner
- Awareness and understanding of barriers faced by single parents on Employment & Income Assistance entering or re-entering the labour market
- Excellent knowledge of community resources and ability to establish a positive environment for adult learners
- Excellent administrative background including proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Satisfactory Criminal Record, Child Abuse and Adult Abuse Registry checks
