The Geological Survey of Canada (GSC) is the national organization for geoscientific information and research. The Critical Minerals Geoscience and Data program at the Geological Survey of Canada conducts research aligned with the departmental priorities of Natural Resources Canada. Physical scientists work with geoscience information and other relevant data to support critical minerals research activities, data analytics, data management and prepare datasets and reports for dissemination. Project results are communicated to the department, other agencies, and the public through reports, publications, and datasets/maps.

specialization in physics, geology, chemistry, computer science or some other science relevant to the position.

The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and must have been taken at a
recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.

- Experience in development of scientific datasets, technical reports, or maps.
- Experience compiling, analyzing, interpreting, and validating data from multiple sources.
